QR & barcode maker

Create styled QR codes with an optional uploaded logo, or standard barcodes. Use QR & barcode maker locally with practical instructions, output settings and format limits.

A practical guide

QR & barcode maker

Generate a QR code, Code 128 or EAN-13 barcode as PNG or SVG from entered text or digits. Choose the format for screen use or placement in a design, then test the generated code with the intended reader. Code type determines the accepted content, so not every text value suits every barcode option.

  • Create a QR code for a URL
  • Generate a Code 128 identifier label
  • Calculate an EAN-13 check digit from twelve digits

How to use QR & barcode maker

  1. Enter the code content

Paste a URL, text or barcode digits, or upload a text file. Check the exact content because the generated symbol represents it rather than validating the linked destination.

  2. Choose the code type

Select QR, Code 128 or EAN-13. For EAN-13, supply twelve digits to calculate a check digit or thirteen digits with a valid existing check digit.

  3. Choose output and create

Select PNG or SVG and set the QR size when creating a QR code. Run Create result to generate the symbol with its required surrounding space.

  4. Test in its intended form

Download and scan the result using the intended reader. Test again at the printed or displayed size, preserving a clear border and enough contrast around the symbol.

Understand the settings

Code type
Choose code type according to the result you need. Available choices: QR code; Code 128; EAN-13. The initial selection is QR code.
Download format
Choose download format according to the result you need. Available choices: PNG; SVG. The initial selection is PNG.
QR size (px)
QR size (px) accepts values from 128 to 2048, using whole numbers. The initial value is 600. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files.
QR content
Choose qr content according to the result you need. Available choices: text; wifi; contact; email; sms; whatsapp. The initial selection is text.
Wi-Fi password
For the Wi-Fi QR preset, enter the network password. This credential is encoded in the generated QR content: someone who scans the code can read or use it. The option is omitted from public job details, but it remains in the QR output. Share the code only with intended recipients.
Message or email subject
Message or email subject is applied to this tool job. Use the value or syntax described in the example below. Leave it blank only when the field is described as optional.
Dot style
Choose dot style according to the result you need. Available choices: square; rounded; dots; classy. The initial selection is square.
Corner style
Choose corner style according to the result you need. Available choices: square; extra-rounded; dot. The initial selection is square.
Foreground colour
Choose the foreground colour used by the operation. The initial colour is #000000. Check the output against its intended background, particularly when transparent areas, fine edges or text contrast matter.
Background colour
Choose the background colour used by the operation. The initial colour is #ffffff. Check the output against its intended background, particularly when transparent areas, fine edges or text contrast matter.
Verify QR scan before download
Turn “Verify QR scan before download” on only when it matches your intended result. The initial state is on. Read the workflow and output limitations below when this changes how the original content is processed.

A QR code for an event page

An event poster needs a QR link to its registration page. Enter the complete URL, select QR and SVG, then generate it. Place the symbol in the poster without trimming its border and test a printed sample before producing the final copies.

Check your result

Enter text or upload a TXT file. Optionally add one PNG/JPG/WebP logo. Contact preset uses name, phone and email on separate lines. Test the output before sharing. Processing stays on this computer. Input and expansion limits apply; originals are never overwritten. Open the saved output in the app or workflow where you plan to use it. Check one representative result before repeating the same settings with more files. The original files stay unchanged.

What to know before you start

  • Processing stays on this computer. Input and expansion limits apply; originals are never overwritten.
  • Upload up to 20 files, at least 1 with a combined size of at most 100 MB. The completed output must fit within 200 MB.
  • Pasted text and uploaded text have operation-specific UTF-8 byte limits. Productivity tools accept up to 1 MiB (1,048,576 bytes); non-ASCII characters can use several bytes each. If a file is selected, it takes priority over pasted text.
  • Jobs run one at a time with a 180-second deadline. Temporary files expire after approximately 30 minutes; download them before clearing or restarting the app.

QR & barcode maker: common questions

Does QR size also control barcode width?

The size field applies to QR output. Code 128 and EAN-13 use their own generated barcode geometry, so inspect the downloaded PNG or SVG and scale it appropriately without distorting bar proportions or removing surrounding space.

What happens with twelve EAN digits?

EAN-13 accepts twelve digits and calculates the required check digit, or thirteen digits whose check digit is already valid. Supply the intended numeric identifier and verify the resulting full code with your normal product or inventory workflow.

Does a QR code verify a URL is safe?

No. The generated code represents the text you provide. Check the actual destination and spelling before creating the symbol, and scan the result yourself to verify that the reader opens the intended URL rather than a mistyped one.

Should I choose PNG or SVG?

PNG is convenient for direct image use, while SVG can scale cleanly in compatible design workflows. In either case, preserve contrast and the clear border, and test the code at the final displayed or printed size.

Does QR & barcode maker upload files to another service?

Processing happens on the local server on this computer, using installed libraries, models and native tools. The browser-to-localhost connection is required, but no third-party conversion service is used. Initial dependency setup can require internet access; conversions use the installed local assets.

Can I continue after changing pages?

Pending selections stay available while navigating inside the app. Use My files to return to a tool draft or its results. Reloading or closing the tab discards pending browser selections; temporary job results expire after approximately 30 minutes. Download finished files before restarting the local app.
