# Join audio clips > Browser-only file conversion. Selected files are processed on this device and are not uploaded to a conversion server. Source: https://localconverter.tech/join-audio Combine ordered audio clips into one listening file using a common segment selection for every input. The engine converts selected clips to stereo at 48 kHz before joining them. Choose the output format and bitrate for a short combined recording, with the complete joined output limited to 120 seconds. ## Useful tasks - Combine short voice takes - Join a set of sound examples - Assemble brief audio excerpts in order ## Steps 1. **Add clips in playback order**: Choose at least two supported audio files and arrange their upload order. Every input must contain a readable audio track to join successfully. 2. **Set a shared segment selection**: Enter start and length knowing that the same values apply independently to each clip. Use start zero to take the opening portion of every input. 3. **Choose encoding and join**: Select output format and bitrate where applicable, then run the tool. Clips are normalized to stereo 48 kHz and concatenated in the chosen order. 4. **Listen across the joins**: Download the combined file and inspect each transition. Check missing words, abrupt level changes and the total duration before using the joined recording elsewhere. ## Settings - **Output format**: Choose output format according to the result you need. Available choices: MP3; WAV; FLAC; OGG; M4A; AIFF. The initial selection is MP3. - **Bitrate (kbps)**: Bitrate (kbps) accepts values from 32 to 320, using whole numbers. The initial value is 128. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files. - **Start (seconds)**: Start (seconds) accepts values from 0 to 7200, in increments of 0.1. The initial value is 0. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files. - **Length (seconds)**: Length (seconds) accepts values from 0.1 to 120, in increments of 0.1. The initial value is 20. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files. ## Three brief voice examples Three recordings each contain a useful opening ten-second example. Add them in presentation order, set start zero and length ten, then export MP3. Listen to the roughly thirty-second result and check that transitions do not cut through spoken words. ## Check the result Add clips in playback order. Each clip is trimmed using the same start and length, then normalized to stereo 48 kHz. Media jobs are bounded to 120 seconds; animations to 240 frames, 30 seconds and 64 million decoded pixels. Open the saved output in the app or workflow where you plan to use it. Check one representative result before repeating the same settings with more files. The original files stay unchanged. ## Limits - Files are processed on this device. Browser memory and engine-specific limits apply. Save results before reloading. - Media jobs are bounded to 120 seconds; animations to 240 frames, 30 seconds and 64 million decoded pixels. - Upload up to 20 files, at least 2 with a combined size of at most 100 MB. The completed output must fit within 200 MB. - Files are checked by the local engine; a matching filename alone is not proof of valid contents. - Selections and completed jobs stay available while you navigate inside this tab. Use My files to revisit results. Reloading or closing the tab clears the workspace; download results you want to keep first. ## Questions ### Does length apply to the whole result? The same start and length are applied to each input separately. Their selected durations are then added together, and the complete joined result must remain within 120 seconds. A shorter source contributes only its available selected duration. ### Can each clip have different trim settings? This join tool exposes one shared start and length for every clip. If the useful sections differ, prepare each clip separately with the audio trim tool, then join those prepared copies using start zero. ### Does joining normalize loudness? The join workflow normalizes sample rate and channel layout to stereo 48 kHz; that is different from matching perceived loudness. Use the loudness normalization tool if the completed recording needs a chosen loudness target or fades. ### Are crossfades added between clips? The clips are concatenated in order without a crossfade control. Listen at each boundary for clicks, pauses or abrupt level changes, and prepare smoother source excerpts if the transitions need a more deliberate edit. ### Does Join audio clips upload files to another service? Processing runs in this browser, on your device. Files and pasted input are not uploaded to a conversion server. The website and required engine assets must load first; large operations depend on available device memory. ### Can I continue after changing pages? Selections and completed jobs stay available while you navigate inside this tab. Use My files to revisit results. Reloading or closing the tab clears the workspace; download results you want to keep first. ## Related guides - [Compress or trim audio](https://localconverter.tech/compress-audio.md) - [Audio waveform image](https://localconverter.tech/audio-waveform.md) - [AAC, Opus, WMA, AMR or APE to audio](https://localconverter.tech/convert-native-audio.md) - [Normalize loudness and fade audio](https://localconverter.tech/normalize-audio.md) - [MP3 to WAV](https://localconverter.tech/mp3-to-wav.md) - [MP3 to FLAC](https://localconverter.tech/mp3-to-flac.md)
