# Lottie or TGS to animation > Browser-only file conversion. Selected files are processed on this device and are not uploaded to a conversion server. Source: https://localconverter.tech/lottie-render Render a self-contained Lottie JSON or TGS animation as GIF, animated WebP or APNG. Choose a short time window, width, frame rate and loop setting to create a raster animation for compatible viewers. The renderer supports bounded compositions without external resources, expressions or ZIP-based .lottie bundles. ## Useful tasks - Preview a self-contained motion graphic - Convert a supported TGS to GIF - Make an animated WebP from Lottie JSON ## Steps 1. **Choose JSON or TGS**: Upload one self-contained Lottie JSON or TGS file. Remove external fonts, image dependencies and expressions in the authoring workflow before preparing the file for rendering. 2. **Select the render window**: Enter start, length and frames per second. The selection must contain between one and two hundred forty frames and remain within thirty seconds. 3. **Choose raster animation settings**: Select GIF, WebP or APNG, output width and loop behaviour. Larger dimensions and more frames must still remain within the decoded-pixel budget for the complete render. 4. **Review the rendered motion**: Run the tool and download the animation. Compare shapes, timing, text and transparency with the intended composition before using the raster version in another application. ## Settings - **Output format**: Choose output format according to the result you need. Available choices: GIF; WEBP; APNG. The initial selection is GIF. - **Maximum width**: Maximum width accepts values from 16 to 1200, using whole numbers. The initial value is 480. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files. - **Loop count (-1 = source, 0 = forever)**: Loop count (-1 = source, 0 = forever) accepts values from -1 to 100, using whole numbers. The initial value is -1. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files. - **Start (seconds)**: Start (seconds) accepts values from 0 to 7200, in increments of 0.1. The initial value is 0. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files. - **Length (seconds)**: Length (seconds) accepts values from 0.1 to 120, in increments of 0.1. The initial value is 20. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files. - **Frames per second**: Frames per second accepts values from 1 to 30, using whole numbers. The initial value is 15. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files. ## A small motion graphic as WebP A self-contained three-second Lottie composition needs a browser-friendly raster preview. Choose WebP, width 480 and 15 frames per second. Create the forty-five-frame animation and review its shape motion and transparent edges against the original design intent. ## Check the result Upload a file, adjust settings and run the tool. All processing uses the local engine. Self-contained JSON/TGS only, without external images, fonts, expressions or scripts. Up to 240 frames. ZIP .lottie bundles are unsupported. Open the saved output in the app or workflow where you plan to use it. Check one representative result before repeating the same settings with more files. The original files stay unchanged. ## Limits - Files are processed on this device. Browser memory and engine-specific limits apply. Save results before reloading. - Self-contained JSON/TGS only, without external images, fonts, expressions or scripts. Up to 240 frames. ZIP .lottie bundles are unsupported. - Upload one file with a combined size of at most 100 MB. The completed output must fit within 200 MB. - Files are checked by the local engine; a matching filename alone is not proof of valid contents. - Selections and completed jobs stay available while you navigate inside this tab. Use My files to revisit results. Reloading or closing the tab clears the workspace; download results you want to keep first. ## Questions ### Can I upload a .lottie ZIP bundle? No. This tool accepts JSON and TGS, not ZIP-based .lottie bundles. Export a supported self-contained JSON composition from your source workflow and check that it does not depend on external images, fonts or expressions. ### Why are expressions rejected? The renderer works with a bounded, self-contained animation structure and does not support expression-based behaviour or scripts. Bake the intended motion into supported keyframes in the authoring application before exporting the composition for this tool. ### How many frames can be rendered? A render can contain one to two hundred forty frames, with a maximum thirty-second selection and a sixty-four-million-decoded-pixel budget. A high frame rate or large output width may therefore require a shorter animation window. ### Does this keep vector animation data? The result is a raster animation in GIF, WebP or APNG, not an editable Lottie project. Retain the original JSON or TGS if you need vector scalability, editable keyframes or a later export at different dimensions. ### Does Lottie or TGS to animation upload files to another service? Processing runs in this browser, on your device. Files and pasted input are not uploaded to a conversion server. The website and required engine assets must load first; large operations depend on available device memory. ### Can I continue after changing pages? Selections and completed jobs stay available while you navigate inside this tab. Use My files to revisit results. Reloading or closing the tab clears the workspace; download results you want to keep first. ## Related guides - [ICO and favicon pack](https://localconverter.tech/icon-favicon.md) - [PSD / PSB preview and layers](https://localconverter.tech/psd-export.md) - [Convert TTF, OTF, WOFF and WOFF2](https://localconverter.tech/convert-font.md) - [Colour converter & palette](https://localconverter.tech/color-palette.md)
