Video to animated WebP, APNG or GIF
Take a short moment from a video and make it loop. Use Video to animated WebP, APNG or GIF locally with practical instructions, output settings and format limits.
Video to animated WebP, APNG or GIF
Turn a selected video moment into a silent GIF, animated WebP or APNG. Choose start time, length, width and frame rate to balance motion smoothness against animation size. It is useful for short demonstrations or previews where a lightweight looping visual is more convenient than a full video player.
- Create a looping interface demonstration
- Make a short product-motion preview
- Share a silent excerpt as animated WebP
How to use Video to animated WebP, APNG or GIF
Choose the video moment
Add one supported video or GIF source and identify the useful start point. Keep the intended excerpt short enough for a compact animation.
Set length and sampling
Enter start, length and frames per second. Duration multiplied by frame rate must fit within the two-hundred-forty-frame export bound before encoding begins.
Choose format and dimensions
Select GIF, WebP or APNG and the output width. Keep the complete decoded frame sequence within sixty-four million pixels and thirty seconds of animation.
Generate and inspect motion
Run the conversion and download the animation. Check smoothness, first and last frames and loop timing; reduce width or frame rate if the result is unnecessarily large.
Understand the settings
- Output format
- Choose output format according to the result you need. Available choices: GIF; WEBP; APNG. The initial selection is GIF.
- Maximum width
- Maximum width accepts values from 16 to 1200, using whole numbers. The initial value is 480. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files.
- Loop count (-1 = source, 0 = forever)
- Loop count (-1 = source, 0 = forever) accepts values from -1 to 100, using whole numbers. The initial value is -1. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files.
- Start (seconds)
- Start (seconds) accepts values from 0 to 7200, in increments of 0.1. The initial value is 0. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files.
- Length (seconds)
- Length (seconds) accepts values from 0.1 to 120, in increments of 0.1. The initial value is 20. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files.
- Frames per second
- Frames per second accepts values from 1 to 24, using whole numbers. The initial value is 10. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files.
A five-second interface preview
A screen recording contains a useful five-second interaction starting at twelve seconds. Enter start 12, length 5 and 10 frames per second, then choose WebP at width 480. Review the resulting fifty-frame animation for readable interface labels and a sensible loop.
Check your result
Upload a file, adjust settings and run the tool. All processing uses the local engine. Media jobs are bounded to 120 seconds; animations to 240 frames, 30 seconds and 64 million decoded pixels. Open the saved output in the app or workflow where you plan to use it. Check one representative result before repeating the same settings with more files. The original files stay unchanged.
What to know before you start
- Files are processed on this device. Browser memory and engine-specific limits apply. Save results before reloading.
- Media jobs are bounded to 120 seconds; animations to 240 frames, 30 seconds and 64 million decoded pixels.
- Upload one file with a combined size of at most 100 MB. The completed output must fit within 200 MB.
- Files are checked by the local engine; a matching filename alone is not proof of valid contents.
- Selections and completed jobs stay available while you navigate inside this tab. Use My files to revisit results. Reloading or closing the tab clears the workspace; download results you want to keep first.
Video to animated WebP, APNG or GIF: common questions
Will the animation contain sound?
No. GIF, animated WebP and APNG are image animations in this workflow, and audio is not included. Keep a regular video format when spoken instructions, music or other sound is essential to understanding the excerpt.
How do I reduce output size?
Use a shorter segment, lower frame rate or smaller width. These choices reduce the number of encoded pixels and motion samples. Preview the result so that reducing size does not make text unreadable or movement too abrupt.
Why is my selected frame rate rejected?
The selected duration and frame rate together must produce no more than two hundred forty frames, and decoded pixels are also bounded. A frame rate valid by itself may exceed those limits when paired with a long or large clip.
Does a twelve-second segment at ten fps fit?
That combination requests about one hundred twenty frames, within the frame-count bound. It must also satisfy duration and decoded-pixel bounds, so a very wide or tall frame can still require a smaller output width.
Does Video to animated WebP, APNG or GIF upload files to another service?
Processing runs in this browser, on your device. Files and pasted input are not uploaded to a conversion server. The website and required engine assets must load first; large operations depend on available device memory.
Can I continue after changing pages?
