Join video clips

Combine video clips on one consistent canvas. Use Join video clips locally with practical instructions, output settings and format limits.

A practical guide

Join video clips

Assemble ordered video clips into one short video with a consistent 16:9 canvas at 25 frames per second. Each input uses the same start and length settings, with audio normalized and silence supplied for silent clips. The combined output can be up to 120 seconds and uses your chosen video format.

  • Assemble short demonstration clips
  • Join portrait and landscape snippets in one canvas
  • Combine silent and narrated video examples

How to use Join video clips

  1. Arrange the source clips

Add at least two supported videos and put them in playback order. Every file must contain video, even when some clips have no audio track.

  2. Set the common excerpt

Enter start and length for each input using the shared controls. Add the selected durations mentally to ensure the combined result stays within 120 seconds.

  3. Choose the output canvas

Select output format, width and quality, then run the join. Each video is fitted into a 16:9 frame at twenty-five frames per second.

  4. Review transitions and sound

Download the finished video and check every join. Inspect padding around differing source proportions and listen for silent sections or abrupt changes between the source recordings.

Understand the settings

Output format
Choose output format according to the result you need. Available choices: MP4; WEBM; MOV; MKV. The initial selection is MP4.
Maximum width
Maximum width accepts values from 16 to 1920, using whole numbers. The initial value is 1280. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files.
Quality (lower = better)
Quality (lower = better) accepts values from 16 to 45, using whole numbers. The initial value is 26. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files.
Start (seconds)
Start (seconds) accepts values from 0 to 7200, in increments of 0.1. The initial value is 0. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files.
Length (seconds)
Length (seconds) accepts values from 0.1 to 120, in increments of 0.1. The initial value is 20. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files.

A three-clip training example

Three demonstrations need to play together in a single MP4. Add them in teaching order, take the opening fifteen seconds from each and choose width 1280. Review the forty-five-second result for letterboxing, sound transitions and the silent clip’s intended pause.

Check your result

Add clips in playback order. Clips are fitted to the chosen width on a 16:9 canvas at 25 fps; audio is normalized. Silent clips receive silence. Media jobs are bounded to 120 seconds; animations to 240 frames, 30 seconds and 64 million decoded pixels. Open the saved output in the app or workflow where you plan to use it. Check one representative result before repeating the same settings with more files. The original files stay unchanged.

What to know before you start

  • Files are processed on this device. Browser memory and engine-specific limits apply. Save results before reloading.
  • Media jobs are bounded to 120 seconds; animations to 240 frames, 30 seconds and 64 million decoded pixels.
  • Upload up to 20 files, at least 2 with a combined size of at most 100 MB. The completed output must fit within 200 MB.
  • Files are checked by the local engine; a matching filename alone is not proof of valid contents.
  • Selections and completed jobs stay available while you navigate inside this tab. Use My files to revisit results. Reloading or closing the tab clears the workspace; download results you want to keep first.

Join video clips: common questions

Will portrait clips be stretched?

No. Clips are proportionally fitted into a common 16:9 canvas and padded where necessary. A portrait clip will have side space rather than being distorted, so inspect whether its main subject remains large enough to follow.

What happens to a silent input clip?

A clip with no audio receives a matching silent audio segment. This lets it join with clips that contain sound, but the tool does not add music or narration to fill that silence automatically.

Can I trim each clip differently?

The start and length settings are shared across all inputs. Prepare clips individually when their useful sections begin at different times, then upload those prepared excerpts in order and join them from start zero.

Does joining preserve original frame rates?

The joined output uses twenty-five frames per second on the common canvas, rather than retaining a separate source rate for each clip. Review fast movement and screen recordings if matching the original temporal detail matters.

Does Join video clips upload files to another service?

Processing runs in this browser, on your device. Files and pasted input are not uploaded to a conversion server. The website and required engine assets must load first; large operations depend on available device memory.
